MYC is open to all athletes in grades K–8. We offer six team options designed to support each athlete’s skills, potential, and stage of development. This includes five Competition Teams and one Sideline‑Only Team.

Athletes on our competition teams cheer Football Sideline in the fall and compete in Game Day or Traditional divisions during the winter season.

During our  required Season Kick‑Off Camp, coaches evaluate athletes in grades 3–8 to determine the best team placement. Evaluations consider:

Sideline‑Only Team

The Sideline‑Only Team offers two separate seasons:

  • Football Season: Mid‑August through mid‑November
  • Basketball Season: Mid‑November through mid‑February

Sideline‑Only athletes cheer Football Sideline in the fall and Basketball Courtside in the winter. No evaluations are required for this team.

Grades K – 2nd

A great introduction to cheerleading, this team is composed of all skill levels from grades K-2nd. This team will attend a half week of season kick off camp during August in McMinnville, practice twice a week beginning the end of August, and perform at local events & cheer for Mac Youth Football games in the fall. During the winter season this team will continue to train and compete at local competitions in the Mini Rec Cheer Gameday Division.  Team season is August through February.

Grades 3rd – 6th

This team is open to athletes in grades 3-6 and will attend a full week of kick-off camp. In the fall this team will cheer for Mac Youth Football games. During the winter, they will compete in the Youth Rec Gameday Division at local cheer competitions. This team focuses on building a strong foundation for cheerleading, emphasizing crowd-leading, motions, dance, and jumps. No prior experience is required to be on this team. No tumbling or stunting skills are required for team placement, as evaluations by the coaching staff focuses on overall cheer and performance potential and readiness.  Team season is August through February.

Grades 3rd – 6th

This team of 3rd – 6th graders will attend a full week of kick-off camp. This team will cheer for grades for Mac Youth Football games during the fall season. Then, during the winter season they will compete in the Traditional Youth Rec Division at local cheer competitions. No experience is required for this team; however, placement is determined based on tumbling and stunting skills, with preference given to athletes who demonstrate basic to intermediate abilities such as back walkovers and extended stunts during camp evaluation week.  Team season is August through February.

Grades 5th – 8th

This team is open to athletes in grades 5-8 and will attend a full week of kick-off camp. In the fall this team will cheer for Mac Youth Football and Middle School Football games. During the winter, they will compete in the Junior Rec Gameday Division at local cheer competitions. This team focuses on building a strong foundation for high school cheer, emphasizing crowd-leading, motions, dance, and jumps. No prior experience is required to be on this team. No tumbling or stunting skills are required for team placement, as evaluations by the coaching staff focuses on overall cheer and performance potential and readiness.  Team season is August through February.

Grades 5th – 8th

This team is open to 5th-8th graders and will attend a full week of kick-off camp. This team will cheer for Patton and Duniway Middle School football games during the fall season. Then, during the winter season they will compete in the Traditional Junior Rec Division at regional cheer competitions.  This team focuses on preparing athletes for high school cheer, emphasizing crowd-leading, motions, dance, jumps, stunting and tumbling. No experience is required for this team, however placement is determined based on tumbling and stunting skills, with preference given to athletes who demonstrate intermediate to advanced abilities or potential, such as back handsprings and extended single leg stunts, during camp evaluation week.  Team season is August through February.

Grades 2nd – 8th

This team is open to athletes grades 2-8 and will have 2 separate seasons: Football and Basketball. Team Force will cheer for home McMinnville Youth Football games during the Fall Season. In the winter season they will cheer at McMinnville Park and Rec basketball games. This team will focus on learning the fundamentals of cheerleading in motions, dance, stunting, tumbling, and jumps. This team does not compete and does not attend Kick-Off Camp.  No experience is required to be on this team. Athletes can join for one or both seasons.  Football season is Mid-August through Mid-November. Basketball season is Mid-November through Mid-February.
